Design and Style Guide

We want to make sure your wedding stationery is completely unique to you - so you’re able to customise any of our collections to ensure you get something you truly love.

We have a variety of different print methods, card and envelope colours and card weights to choose from, so we’ve tried to break down everything below in easy to understand terminology.

We do recommend purchasing a Sample Pack to see everything in person, but if you have any queries then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Printing Methods

We work with some of the best specialist printers in the UK, who bring our designs to life! We’ve chosen our printers very carefully, as they’re absolute experts in their field.

We offer 6 different printing methods - Digital Ink, White Ink, Letterpress, Hot Foil, Embossing and Debossing. You’ll find a little bit of information about each print method below.

DIGITAL PRINT

This is the most cost effective print method with the fastest turnaround time. Ink is printed flatly onto the paper, leaving a smooth finish. Any ink colour can be printed, however we recommend printing medium to dark ink shades on lighter to medium card stocks. For darker card stocks, white ink printing is available.

WHITE INK

White ink printing is similar method to digital print. It leaves a smooth, flat finish on the card, and is a great option for light text on medium to darker card shades. As with a digital print, you can have variable data (such as guest names) printed on invitations or menus for a small additional cost.

LETTERPRESS

Our most premium print method (and our favourite!) this is luxury at it’s finest! Letterpress involves a bespoke metal plate being created of your design. This is then inked and pressed into the card to leave a deep impression. We can letterpress in any Pantone colour, and always recommend we use a thicker card stock

FOIL

Like letterpress, Foiling involves a metal plate being created of your design, which is used to press the foil into the paper, leaving an impression. It costs exactly the same to print the whole design in foil, or just your names. We have a variety of different foil shades to choose from.

BLIND EMBOSS

Blind embossing also required us to create a metal plate of your design, however it’s then used to press your design into the paper from behind, resulting in a raised 3D effect. Because no ink is used, the result is subtle, therefore we only recommend this for bold, large fonts, not for small details.

BLIND DEBOSS

Basically, letterpress but without any ink! A metal plate with your design is created, and then pressed into the paper, leaving a blind impression. As with embossing, no ink is used and the result is very subtle, so we only recommend this for bold, large designs and not for small text or details.

We work with various paper suppliers across the world, and as such, all our card stocks have been expertly chosen and are FSC®-certified.

A range of our colours are shown below. Each can come in our standard 300/350gsm, or an ultra thick 600gsm (which is best for Letterpress and Hot Foil). Envelopes range from 120gsm - 135gsm dependant on colour.

Please note, all colours on screen may appear slightly different to hard copy samples, so we do recommend that you order a sample pack to ensure you’re happy with the card stock of your choice prior to ordering.
